In common with the Catholic Church, SPUC defends human life from conception to natural death. Their work covers many issues. It works to protect the unborn from abortion, and defends the disabled, elderly and incapacitated from euthanasia and assisted suicide. SPUC also provides trained speakers for schools, and offers pro-life support for teachers, parents and medical professionals. PLEASE give generously to this worthy cause. THANK YOU!

FEASTS OF THE WEEK:
Tuesday – Presentation of our Lord.
Wednesday – ST WERBURGH –
This saint is very closely associated with Chester. A “Saxon Royal”, she was born around 650 AD near Stone (in what is now Staffordshsire). She became a nun and rose to be Abbess of Ely, subsequently founding or reforming a number of convents across the huge extent of the Diocese of Lichfield (coinciding with the greater part of the Saxon Kingdom of Mercia). She was buried at one of her convents in Hanbury, Staffs, but at the time of later Danish invasions her remains were brought to the comparative safety of the Saxon stronghold of Chester, where her shrine became a renowned place of pilgrimage. The Minster established at her shrine in Chester later became the Benedictine Abbey, then still later Chester Cathedral.
Friday – St Agatha.
Saturday – Ss Paul Miki & Companions.
FIRST FORGIVENESS:
This Saturday, 45 children from the Parish received the Sacrament of First Forgiveness. Please pray for the children and their families at this special time in their faith journeys.
