Loose Plate: £471.26

Planned Giving: £547.76

Average Weekly Standing Orders: £562.00

Donations: Hall Hire £382.50

Thank you very much for your generous offerings.

FINANCIAL STATEMENT:

Last year’s Annual Financial Statement is printed on the Parish Notice-board. I would like to thank Parishioners for their support throughout the year.

PLANNED GIVING AND GIFT AID:

David Savage writes:

I’ve rambled on for some weeks now about Planned Giving and Gift Aid.  Now I think it’s time to summarise and stop!  Planned Giving and Gift Aid enables the parish to reclaim from the Government 28 pence for every pound that is donated by UK taxpayers.  Most of us are UK taxpayers, either on income, savings interest or capital gains.  Donations must be recorded and this is done through the Planned Giving part of the system, either by Weekly Envelopes or by Standing Orders.  The cost to the donor is nothing; the benefit to the parish is considerable.  There is no promise to give a certain amount for a given period.  If you would like to know more or would like to join the scheme then please contact David Savage on 01244 380626.  On the other hand, if you are happy to let Gordon Brown keep your hard earned money…

BEREAVEMENT GROUP:

Has bereavement affected you?

Do you feel the need to talk in confidence?

The Parish Bereavement Group provides support and care to the bereaved and their families. All members have been fully trained and would like to invite people to contact the group by ringing Ruth on (01244) 380300.

THE HOUSEBOUND:

Please remember the housebound and especially those who have been coming to Church and are now unable to do so. Let Fr. Cooke, Lawrence or the Eucharistic Ministers know and appropriate arrangements for the Sacraments can be made.

CHURCHES TOGETHER IN UPTON:

This week we pray for:

The residents of Keswick Close, Stanton Drive and Caldy Close.

The Army Chaplain and all at the Dale Camp.

The work of our Armed Forces, the soldiers and their families.

ST. PETERS CENTRE AT THE CROSS:

The church building is available for use by Christian organisations for a wide range of events such as services, exhibitions, meetings and concerts.

The work of the Centre continues, with refreshments available during its normal opening hours of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Monday to Saturday (except for Friday afternoon when lack of volunteers forces it to close).  The great majority of the refreshments are from fair trade sources.

If you would like to discuss using the Centre for any appropriate activity, or if you would like to become a volunteer steward, please contact David Savage on 01244 380626.

SURESTART CHILDREN’S CENTRE:

The SVP thank all those parishioners who so kindly donated clothes and toys for the family, which was in need.

CWL SUMMER EVENING:

CWL’s Summer Evening held recently in Coddington raised £161 for CAFOD. Thanks to those who attended for their support, and many thanks to Sarah and Ian Bennion for their kindness in hosting the event.
